History

Our school's aim in the teaching of history is to introduce an understanding of the past whilst developing the historical skills of the children.

In Key Stage 1 the children learn about significant peoples' lives.  They also learn about lifestyles and events that have happened in the past.

In Key Stage 2 the children learn about the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in Britain.  They also investigate how an aspect of the local area has changed over time.  We aim to bring history to life through stories, artefacts, drama and educational visits.  Theme days immerse the pupils in an era bringing historical facts alive.
