The Parent Teacher Association at St John Rigby provides invaluable help to the school through fundraising and other assistance.
Our principal purpose is to further the education of our children by raising money for extra equipment and activities.
The PTA Committee is usually made up of 14 parents and two teachers. It is led by a chairperson with the help of a secretary and treasurer. Membership can change every year at the AGM with new members joining and current members leaving if their child has left the school.
The PTA raises funds by holding events such as:
- Children's film afternoons
- Children's discos
- Summer cake stalls
- Plant sales
- Sponsored events for parents and children
- Christmas Fayre
Over the years, the money raised from such events has been spent on a number of projects including:
- Playground equipment
- Books for the library
- New curtains for the school hall
- Audio equipment
- Football kit
All parents and carers with children at St John Rigby are members of the PTA and because all our children benefit, we all have an interest in the PTA being as successful as possible.
